Caregiver Participation Policy

Sierra Adaptive Gymnastics & Cheer, LLC is an adaptive gymnastics class tailored toward children on the neurodivergent spectrum. With the unique and vulnerable needs of our athletes, caregiver participation is vital in ensuring that our class is safe, fun, and effective for all of our families and coaches.

Requirements

 

If your child needs assistance following instructions, you are REQUIRED to come into the class with the child and help lead them through stations.

  • Caregivers are required to assist their children with the following:

    • Waiting for their turn in line

    • Going through the stations

    • Communicating their needs

    • Regulation of maladaptive behaviors

    • Avoiding dangerous play or locations

    • Using the restroom when needed

    • Any other tasks that ensure safety and team player behavior

  • If your child is engaging in any types of aggressive behaviors, you MUST come in and address or remove your child for a break.

  • If your child is engaging in line cutting or pushing others out of the way, you MUST come in and address or remove your child for a break.

 

Failure to follow these requirements will be reflected in a points system.

SAGC Caregiver Offense System

First offense: Verbal warning of the issue to caregiver

Second offense: Written warning and meeting with Ciarra to come up with solutions to the issue

Third offense: Additional warning, written documentation and child suspension from the class for 2 sessions

Fourth offense: Child suspension from the remainder of the current SAGC gymnastics season
 
*The gymnast will be eligible to try again during the next season.
